There are some women out there who dream of meeting their Prince
Charming at an elegant charity ball. He is tall, dark, handsome, and
definitely has great credit. He is a low profile guy who proposes in
such a way that she can immediately post the romantic endeavor on
Facebook. Then she spends a year planning a stylish (code for expensive)
marriage ceremony that rivals the British Royal Family.
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder and Samantha, his wife and popular ESPN sideline reporter, didn't exactly have that fancy royal wedding.

Samantha’s description her wedding day last December in picturesque
Hudson, Wis. included Arby's, blue jeans and an ugly sweater party with
offensive linemen. It's enough to bring tears to most men. Here's Samantha's description, in an interview with the Pioneer Press' Bob Sansevere:
Arby’s for the wedding meal? You had me at hello.Christian and Samantha Ponder (Getty Images)“I never was really a girl who planned out what my wedding would be, what my dress would look like. Everybody's different. When we got married, he picked me up at the airport and I was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt and a hat. We drove the 20 minutes to Hudson or whatever it was, walked in, got married. Then we went and ate Arby's as our wedding meal. We get way more attention than we ever deserve or need or want, because of our jobs. I don't need a day that's all about me. I was happy to go get married. That night after we had our Arby's, we forgot the offensive line had an Ugly Sweater Party at a local restaurant. One of the guys texted Christian and asked, "Dude, where are you at?" We went to the mall and found ugly sweaters and went to the Ugly Sweater Party. We wanted to leave early, but everybody was like, "No, don't leave." I'm thinking, "Gosh, we just got married."
To be fair, the Ponders decided to have a wedding ceremony this past April, which was followed by huge party. That is the kind of compromise most men can only dream about, but never express.
There is no word if the Ponders served some Beef 'N Cheddar Classics to their guests.
